The collaboration between the Italian Association of Women Engineers and Architects and Archi&Interiors magazine was created to give visibility to women’s expertise, visions and professional paths in the fields of architecture and engineering.

Varese, 12 June 2026 – AIDIA – Italian Association of Women Engineers and Architects and Archi&Interiors have launched an editorial collaboration dedicated to the role of women professionals in today’s design culture.

This partnership takes shape as an editorial journey designed to create an authentic space for storytelling, analysis and recognition. It is a place where architecture, engineering, cities, research, education and professional responsibility can also be explored through the experiences and expertise of the women who, for generations, have contributed to the cultural, technical and civic transformation of the country.

Founded in 1957, AIDIA was established with the aim of creating human and professional solidarity among women engineers and architects. In a historical context in which women’s presence in technical professions still required strong and conscious affirmation, the association built a national network over time, promoting dialogue, professional development, institutional relations and the recognition of expertise.

Today, this heritage of experience feels more relevant than ever. The contribution of women professionals in architecture and engineering does not belong to a marginal or secondary dimension of Italian professional history. It is an integral part of design quality, territorial interpretation, spatial transformation, technical innovation and cultural progress.

The collaboration with Archi&Interiors was born from this awareness. Telling the stories of women professionals does not mean replacing one narrative with another, nor opposing male and female professional paths. Rather, it means broadening the perspective: restoring complexity to a sector in which many skills have had a profound impact, but have not always received the same public, critical and cultural visibility.

Archi&Interiors, a magazine dedicated to architecture, interior design and the culture of living, welcomes this collaboration as part of its editorial mission: to observe design not only through projects, trends and formal languages, but also through the people, professional networks, responsibilities and visions that help define the way we live in and transform spaces.

The partnership with AIDIA therefore becomes an editorial space for listening and in-depth exploration, created to give continuity to a necessary narrative: that of women professionals working in architecture, engineering, research, education, public administration, business and independent practice.

“This collaboration comes from a need we feel very close to: to tell the story of women’s contribution to design culture in a better and more meaningful way,” says Sonia Carrera, Editorial Director of Archi&Interiors. “In architecture and engineering, there are women professionals who build visions, skills, cities, places and possibilities every day. Their work exists, it has an impact, and it leaves tangible traces. Together with AIDIA, we want to give space to this narrative, with an authentic editorial approach that respects the complexity of the technical professions.”

Anna Vella, National President of AIDIA, underlines that “AIDIA and the National Board welcomed with great interest the proposal to launch this partnership with Archi&Interiors magazine. The agreement pursues a twofold objective: on the one hand, to enhance the technical and scientific expertise of women engineers and architects who are members of the association; on the other, to recognise the commitment devoted to communicating the many activities and initiatives carried out at both national and local level by the regional sections. This strategic objective is part of the framework of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, with particular reference to Goal 5 – Gender Equality, which promotes women’s empowerment as a driver of economic, social and cultural development and of a fair, inclusive and sustainable society.”

The collaboration between AIDIA and Archi&Interiors will develop through a shared editorial path, built with care, balance and continuity. The aim is to contribute to a broader narrative of the technical professions, one capable of speaking to women and men working in the sector, to institutions, to new generations and to all those who see architecture and engineering as cultural, social and civic tools.

At a time when design is called upon to address profound environmental, urban, technological and social transformations, giving voice to a plurality of skills means strengthening the quality of the debate itself. This is the direction in which AIDIA and Archi&Interiors have chosen to move forward together.

The Foster sofa bed, designed by Christophe Pillet, is born from a concept of essential and sophisticated comfort, where formal balance and function merge into a project with a clear and contemporary identity. Low, modular, and enveloping, Foster interprets the living room as a fluid space, to be configured with freedom and aesthetic coherence.

The soft, continuous geometries, without sharp edges, identify a contemporary and welcoming aesthetic, capable of interacting with the architecture of the space without imposing themselves. The low frame, deep seat, soft cushions, and enveloping backrest convey an immediate sensation of visual and physical well-being, inviting relaxation.

Foster is featuring a refined stylistic measure, a hallmark of Pillet’s design language, and is conceived first and foremost as a true sofa: a design object that only later reveals its dual function. The reduced height emphasizes the relationship with the architectural space, creating a light visual effect: the sofa integrates naturally into the living room, discreetly concealing its function as a bed.

Modularity is one of the project’s strengths: linear units, corner solutions and chaise longue allow for customized configurations, adaptable to both residential and contract settings. Each composition maintains formal coherence and visual continuity, enhancing the idea of a flexible yet harmonious system.

The technological heart of Foster is the Lampolet mechanism, synonymous with quality and reliability. Conversion into a bed is simple, simply removing the seat cushions to reveal a built-in slatted base mechanism that accommodates a 10 cm high mattress made of high resilient polyurethane foam. This solution ensures comfortable and long-lasting sleep, without compromising aesthetics.

Once opened, Foster becomes a bed with a minimalist aesthetic, maintaining the same formal coherence as the sofa and offering a sleeping experience comparable to that of a traditional bed.

A wide range of cover options is available, fully removable and washable depending on the fabric chosen. The fact that it is delivered disassembled facilitates transportation and access to even the most complex spaces.

With Foster, Milano Bedding interprets the sofa bed as an advanced solution, where aesthetics and function coexist naturally, redefining the very concept of contemporary hospitality.

The company, which produces its models at its headquarters in Brianza, Lombardy, with meticulous craftsmanship, thus confirms its vision: a piece of furniture capable of combining international design, technological research, and a culture of well-being, transforming use into a spontaneous, elegant gesture that is fully integrated into the living space.

The Kirk convertible sofa, designed by Karim Rashid, is born from the encounter between the free energy of jazz and a contemporary vision of living. Inspired by the improvisational genius of Rahsaan Roland Kirk, the sofa interprets the theme of transformability with a refined and surprising language, where aesthetics and function interact naturally. Its fluid and organic shapes, a hallmark of Rashid’s “sensual minimalism,” remove any visual rigidity to create a welcoming, dynamic, and strongly identifiable object.

Like a jazz composition, Kirk thrives on the balance between structure and creative freedom: its design precision is accompanied by a formal lightness that makes it ideal for contemporary, fluid, and constantly evolving spaces. An elegant and discreet sofa by day, a spacious and comfortable bed by night, Kirk introduces a new rhythm to the space, expressing an idea of advanced and personal comfort.

The design is expressed through full volumes, curved lines, and measured details; a variant with contrasting piping adds a distinctive, discreet yet surprising accent.

A distinctive feature of the project is the sideway sleeping, a solution that redefines the traditional sofa bed. Thanks to the Lampolet mechanism, the sofa bed converts into a bed by reducing the occupied front space, thus optimizing the layout of the room and offering a generous sleeping surface. A smart solution to the needs of living, where functionality and well-being must coexist in perfect balance.

The cover is removable and washable according to the fabric chosen, while its dismantlement facilitates transport and accessibility even in the most difficult-to-reach spaces.

With Kirk, Milano Bedding renews its vision of the contemporary sofa bed, relying on one of the most representative voices in international design – Karim Rashid – to interpret modern living with style, personality, and versatility.

An evolved design vision was presented at Salone del Mobile: collectible design as a language that extends beyond the individual piece to encompass the entire environment. For over fifty years, ZANABONI has redefined the boundary between design and art, transforming furniture into a true “art to live with”. Each creation stems from the meeting of function and aesthetic research, where beauty, guided by the human touch, takes shape through precious materials, artisanal craftsmanship, and a deep culture of making.

Today, this approach expands into a comprehensive design dimension. Alongside collections ranging from reinterpreted classic to contemporary and modern design, ZANABONI integrates advanced services: consultancy, customization, design support for the trade, and the development of turnkey solutions. The mission is to translate collectible design into a coherent and scalable proposition: from the iconic piece, defined by bold proportions, noble materials, and techniques such as marquetry, engraving, and handcrafted finishes, to the creation of complete environments, where every element interacts in harmony.

The know-how and a stylistic language that is eclectic yet recognizable bring to development of both cohesive projects and more experimental solutions, always with a strong expressive content.

An invitation to discover a new way of designing: where design becomes collection, and collection becomes space.

At Milan Design Week 2026, Andrea Castrignano created a design journey that moves across different languages — decorative surfaces, light, outdoor space, and transformable furniture — presenting a coherent vision of contemporary living.

Not a single installation, but a sequence of places and interventions able to tell design as an experience: from the wallpaper capsule collection created for Styl’Editions, a brand by Stylgraph, to the artistic direction of the new outdoor space at Swiss Corner, with the integration of Nesos – ALL SEASON by Protezioni. Completing the story is the project for the new Clei flagship store, opened in Piazza Risorgimento during Milan Design Week.

The common thread is colour, a central element in Castrignano’s language: not simply a decorative accent, but a narrative material, a tool for identity, and a device able to change the perception of space.

Signature wallpaper: the capsule collection for Styl’Editions

The heart of the journey was Andrea Castrignano’s Milan studio, in Piazza del Tricolore 3, where the wallpaper capsule collection created for Styl’Editions, a brand by Stylgraph, was presented.

The collection includes twelve subjects born from the encounter between architecture and nature, designed to interpret the wall as an active surface within the project. In this vision, wallpaper is not treated as a simple wall covering, but as an element able to create atmosphere, depth, and recognizability.

Walls become narrative fields: domestic scenographies, emotional backdrops, surfaces where colour and drawing dialogue with the identity of the interiors. It is a reading that is coherent with Castrignano’s path, as he has always used colour as an expressive and design code, giving it a precise role in defining the living experience.

Colour as a design signature

In the proposal presented during Design Week, colour emerges as an organizing element. Bold, vibrant, and never accidental, it becomes the connection point between the different interventions signed by Andrea Castrignano.

In the wallpaper, colour builds presence. In the lightboxes, it becomes light and image. In the outdoor space, it engages with the architecture of the open-air environment. This continuity transforms decoration into a broader language, where surface, material, and perception contribute to the construction of a new idea of living.

The interest is not only aesthetic. Colour takes on a narrative function: it guides the eye, defines hierarchies, and creates recognizability. In this sense, the collection for Styl’Editions becomes part of a wider reflection on the wall as a design element, capable of influencing the atmosphere of interiors and the relationship between space and person.

From Piazza del Tricolore to Swiss Corner: wallpaper becomes a luminous story

The project moved beyond the boundaries of the studio and reached Swiss Corner, the space created by Swiss Chamber – Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Italy, in Piazza Cavour at the corner of Via Palestro.

Here, the wallpapers were reinterpreted through evocative lightboxes, creating a scenographic dialogue between the two exhibition venues. The decorative surface thus acquired a new dimension: no longer only a wall, but a luminous image, a visual presence, a device able to amplify the relationship between graphics, colour, and space.

The transition from the studio to Swiss Corner strengthened the narrative character of the capsule collection, connecting two different places in the city and building continuity between interior, exhibition, and urban space.

Outdoor living and open-air hospitality

Also at Swiss Corner, Andrea Castrignano signed the artistic and creative direction of the new outdoor space, integrating Nesos — the ALL SEASON covering by Protezioni — as the architectural protagonist.

The intervention redefined the concept of open-air hospitality, working on the boundary between indoors and outdoors. The outdoor space is not understood as an accessory area, but as a designed environment, able to welcome, protect, and generate experience.

The covering becomes an integral part of the temporary architecture of the space: a functional element, but also a scenographic one, contributing to the creation of an immersive atmosphere. From this perspective, outdoor living is read as a natural extension of the home, balanced between comfort, aesthetics, and design quality.

Milan Design Week therefore confirms a trend that is now central in contemporary design: the need to rethink outdoor spaces as livable, welcoming, and identity-driven places, able to dialogue with the needs of conviviality, hospitality, and everyday life.

The new Clei flagship store in Piazza Risorgimento

Alongside the projects connected to Styl’Editions and Swiss Corner, Andrea Castrignano also signed the new Clei flagship store, opened during Milan Design Week 2026 in Piazza Risorgimento 8.

Clei, a company recognized in the field of transformable furniture, finds in the new Milan space an opportunity to express its vision of contemporary living, increasingly oriented toward flexibility, space optimization, and design quality.

The intervention fits into the broader journey of Milan Design Week, confirming Castrignano’s role as a designer able to move across different fields: from signature decoration to exhibition spaces, from outdoor living to environments dedicated to transformable furniture.

A Design Week built as a design narrative

Taken as a whole, Andrea Castrignano’s presence at Milan Design Week 2026 presents an idea of design based on the relationship between languages, places, and functions.

The wall becomes a visual manifesto. Colour becomes a design tool. Light amplifies the story of the surface. The outdoor space gains a new residential dignity. Retail space becomes an opportunity to interpret the transformations of contemporary living.

It is in this continuity that the project gains strength: not as a sum of separate episodes, but as a coherent narrative, able to move through the city and connect interiors, exteriors, material, image, and architecture.

During Milan Design Week, Andrea Castrignano signed a recognizable design narrative, in which decoration and function are not opposed, but work together to create more intense, livable, and scenographic environments.

Tonelli Design will be present at the Salone del Mobile in Milan in Pavilion 24 – Stand C24, with a space designed by Massimo Castagna.
The 2026 collection includes 12 new products: three dining tables, three chairs, three sideboards, two wall mirrors, and a pendant lamp.

Giovanna Azzarello, Paolo Benevelli, Nicola Bonriposi, Alessandro Corina, and Giovanni D’Ambrosio are the new designers who have created a new product with Tonelli for the first time. Massimo Castagna, Debonademeo, Giulio Mancini, and Studio14 are the designers who have already collaborated with the brand and created the other new products presented this year at the Salone.

Added to these is a new mirror designed by the company’s in-house Tonelli design studio.
An important new addition is the newly launched Wonderwall family (presented at the 2025 Salone), which transforms from glass paneling into a partition wall, sliding door, and pivot door. This is the origin of the new collaboration between Tonelli and Barausse, a company founded in 1967, which embodies Italian excellence in the production of doors and space dividers.

In addition to these new additions, significant redesigns of existing products enrich and modernize the range of products and finishes. Among these is the Broadway display cabinet by Bartoli Design, which features updated finishes, redesigned details, and a new internal LED lighting system.

Tonelli Design Catalogue: The New Modernism

Tonelli design manufactures glass furnishings since the 80s – bookcases, sideboards, tables, lamps, mirrors and many more – cooperating with international designers and adopting a mindset that is based on the respect of one of human history’s most ancient and noble material. In 2020 Tonelli adds an
important piece to its growth announcing the artistic direction of Massimo Castagna and a further expansion of the catalogue with new products and materials. In 2022, on the occasion of the
International Year of Glass, the company presents an original handbook to guide the public through the discovery of this incredible multi-faceted material.

The New Modernism is our interpretation of living and furnishing the home, the sense we grasp of evolving tastes and lifestyles, combining the rational elegance of design with an interpretation of the powerful expressiveness of natural materials. The collection represents a way of respecting the needs of contemporary living and a stimulus to conceive products that accompany our actions and moments within the domestic space.

This catalog tells a story. It is not simply a collection of products, but the testimony of an evolution, made of research, experimentation, intuition and courageous choices. Each page preserves a passage, each element represents a step forward toward an increasingly defined vision.

Year after year, the collection has transformed: it has refined the details, found new forms, adapted, and surpassed its limits. What began as an idea has taken shape, maturing into a coherent, solid and conscious whole.

Cathedral dining table – design Studio14

The refined, sculptural structure of the Cathedral table evokes the majesty of a cathedral.

From April 23 to 25, 2026, Danieli Ombrelloni will take part in Fuorisalone 2026 in collaboration with Blu Ortensia, within the Oasi Life Experience event, hosted in Piazza Città di Lombardia, Milan.

Danieli Ombrelloni at Fuorisalone: craftsmanship and design on stage

For Danieli Ombrelloni, Fuorisalone 2026 represents a unique opportunity to present itself to the international design audience. On display will be its professional garden parasols: products born from solid technical expertise, a rigorous selection of materials and artisanal care that can be seen in every detail. This presence aims to affirm a clear vision of outdoor living: spaces to be experienced with elegance, solidity and lasting style.

The collaboration with Blu Ortensia: excellence in craftsmanship

At the heart of this participation is the synergy with Blu Ortensia, an artisanal company specialized in the creation of handmade macramé and crochet canopies, featuring exclusive textures and exceptional resistance to wind and weather conditions. Each canopy is the result of meticulous workmanship, combining textile tradition and material innovation to achieve refined aesthetics and superior performance.

The collaboration comes from a shared vision: to create Made in Italy parasols that go beyond the simple function of shelter. The result is a unique and distinctive design, capable of elevating any outdoor space into an aesthetic and sensory experience. It is an alliance between Italian excellences, where the strength of the structure meets the refinement of the fabric, for uncompromising style and quality.

Oasi Life Experience: an immersive journey into design

In the heart of Milan Design Week, Oasi Life Experience opens a space dedicated to quality of life and contemporary environments. From April 21 to 26, the large covered square of Piazza Città di Lombardia — the largest in Europe, with its extraordinary glass and steel roof — is transformed into an immersive journey of talks, presentations, interviews, dinner shows, exhibitions and installations.

Design Week: an event not to be missed

Danieli Ombrelloni awaits you in Piazza Città di Lombardia for three days of meetings, discoveries and beauty. Reaching the location is simple: the M5 Isola, M2 Gioia/Garibaldi and M3 Centrale/Sondrio metro stops, together with trams, buses and the Restelli car park, make the event easily accessible to everyone.

It will be an opportunity to meet, discover Danieli’s artisanal parasols up close and explore how Made in Italy can shape an outdoor space that is beautiful, solid and truly meant to be lived in.

Mattia Vayra, Jean-Baptiste Auvray, Marisa Coppiano and Marco Barberis interpret a new idea of the rug for the brand, between design, material and contemporary language.

On the occasion of Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026, Ademi debuts with a designer collection that entrusts four authors — Mattia Vayra, Jean-Baptiste Auvray, Marisa Coppiano and Marco Barberis — with the task of interpreting the rug as a design surface and a contemporary language. The new collection will be presented from April 21 to 26, 2026, in Hall 18 – Stand F06.

Founded in January 2025, but built on more than twenty years of experience in the custom rug sector, the brand arrives in Milan with a precise vision: to give the rug a new centrality within interior design, no longer as a simple accessory, but as an element capable of defining rhythm, atmosphere and spatial identity.

Its participation in the Salone therefore marks an important moment for Ademi, which chooses to present its universe through four different sensitivities, united by a shared approach to design. The result is a collection in which the rug opens up to different interpretations — chromatic, structural, ornamental and material — confirming the brand’s desire to move in balance between craftsmanship, aesthetic research, personalization and the culture of contemporary living.

The designer collection presented by Ademi at the Salone develops as a collective narrative entrusted to four designers with different backgrounds and languages. Mattia Vayra works with colour as a structure of space, transforming the rug into a dynamic surface made of layering, rhythm and visual depth. Jean-Baptiste Auvray brings a more essential and measured approach, where the sign becomes lighter and the rug turns into a discreet presence, balance and visual pause.

With Marisa Coppiano, the textile surface recovers a more narrative and ornamental dimension, suspended between decorative memory, organic suggestion and contemporary sensitivity. Marco Barberis, finally, pushes the rug toward a more instinctive and material reading, where variation, chromatic density and visual vibration transform the floor into an emotional landscape. Together, these four contributions define a collection that restores the rug to a fully design-led function, capable of dialoguing with architecture, interior design and new ways of living.

With this debut at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026, Ademi confirms its intention to position itself as a sensitive interlocutor for the design world, bringing to Milan a collection that interprets the rug as an element able to unite material, function, identity and contemporary language.

Ademi will be present at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026 from April 21 to 26, in Hall 18 – Stand F06, where it will present the new designer collection signed by Mattia Vayra, Jean-Baptiste Auvray, Marisa Coppiano and Marco Barberis.

CRISTINA Rubinetterie, a specialist in the bathroom and selfcare industry since 1949, marks a new chapter in its history with a profound, human-centric evolution of its brand identity.

Built on a lifelong passion for craftsmanship and a commitment to timeless functionality, the brand today enters a new era, renewing its deepest identity.

Following its 2017 acquisition by Caleffi — a move rooted in the desire to safeguard the region’s artisanal heritage — the company has modernized its operations while staying loyal to its roots. Its identity remains inseparable from the Novara district and the unique technical know-how rooted in the Lake Orta region.

The individual is at the heart of the brand’s new vision, making human needs the focal point. Driven by a blend of aesthetics, functionality, and technology, this shift is led by a young, multidisciplinary team of creative and marketing specialists, both within the company and through external collaborations.

This strategic roadmap has resulted in a complete reimagining of the brand’s visual identity and narrative, mirroring its focus on the individual and the nuances of contemporary life.

Approach and Personality

Guided by deep introspection, CRISTINA has redefined its purpose. Understanding that today’s consumers have a clearer sense of how they want to live, the company is delving into concepts of authenticity to fuel innovation. This new direction prioritizes everyday life, transforming products into essential instruments of self-expression, a vision of “discreet luxury” that remains in step with contemporary cultural shifts.

The Collections: Bathroom, Kitchen, and Outdoor

CRISTINA unveils a product strategy rooted in evolution rather than revolution. With a conscious and responsible approach, the brand refines and enhances existing designs instead of creating for the sake of novelty, bringing to market solutions that respond to real needs and elevate everyday living.

A core part of this strategy involves leveraging in-house manufacturing expertise to develop comprehensive, versatile collections, all defined by a cohesive and distinctive aesthetic, focusing on complete solutions for both residential and contract sectors.

Salone del Mobile.Milano

During Salone del Mobile in Milan, CRISTINA will unveil this shift in direction through an installation titled “Everyday Matters. A Study of Being Present”, designed by Experiential/H. Conceived as a space to be discovered, it invites visitors into an environment that encourages personal reflection.

The installation presents a realistic and credible setting, deliberately moving away from overly idealized or unattainable scenarios. It unfolds as a sensory narrative along a curated path, offering a holistic vision of living spaces, both indoor and outdoor, and encouraging a broader reflection on everyday life and wellbeing.

At Salone del Mobile, CRISTINA will also unveil a new interpretation of Tricolore, its iconic and historic collection. This completely new modular approach positions the program as one of the most comprehensive and customizable on the market.

CRISTINA Brera

At the brand’s Brera Showroom, the Everyday Matters concept finds further expression in an artistic installation curated by Sarah Possamai, who also designed the preview event that first unveiled the brand’s new direction. During Design Week, the space will host an installation featuring everyday objects where CRISTINA’s products come to life in unexpected and expressive ways.
