Founded in 1927 in Meda by the brothers Cesare and Umberto, Cassina is a symbolic brand of design Made in Italy , recognized internationally as a point of reference in interior furnishings. The company played a decisive role in the rebirth of post-war Italian design, paving the way for collaborations with major players in the sector. Among these, the one with Gio Ponti stands out, from which the famous Superleggera Chair was born, today considered an icon of industrial design and part of the permanent collection of the Triennale Design Museum .

In the Sixties, Cassina consolidated its identity with projects featuring the signature of architects and designers such as Le Corbusier , Charlotte Perriand , Frank Lloyd Wright , Gerrit Rietveld , Franco Albini and Marco Zanuso . Over time, these historical collaborations have been joined by those with contemporary design names such as Mario Bellini , Vico Magistretti , Gaetano Pesce , Philippe Starck and Piero Lissoni .
Since 2015, the artistic direction has been entrusted to Patricia Urquiola , who guides the company towards new creative visions, with particular attention to sustainability and looking for innovative materials.

Each collection is born from the balance between innovation, heritage and quality constructive, consolidating the role of the Cassina brand among the protagonists of designer furnishings on a global level.

Among the most important collections of the Cassina brand are I Maestri and I Contemporanei , collections that enhance the dialogue between tradition and innovation: iconic furnishings reinterpreted with sustainable materials, alongside contemporary creations designed for comfort and customization. Maralunga sofa: designed by Vico Magistretti in 1973, it is a masterpiece of Italian design. Considered an international bestseller, it stands out for its soft lines and the reassuring aspect given by the padding which guarantees exceptional comfort.
LC3 Fauteuil Grand Confort Durable : the ecological version of the famous armchair, with padding in recycled and bio-based materials.
