The new Educational Director will bring to NAD a vision based on three guidelines:  teaching excellence, constant dialogue with businesses, international openness . “I found in NAD a lively environment, with great energy and a strong desire to grow” – declared Sacchi – “what I want to bring is my experience as a designer, teacher and consultant, but above all a vision that puts students at the centre, helping them to develop not only technical skills, but also a critical approach open to the future”.

Among the priorities announced, a strengthening of academic programs in line with the cultural and technological transformations of the sector: from  sustainability  to  digital transformation , up to the opportunities opened up by artificial intelligence . “They are intertwined areas and none of them can be overlooked. However, sustainability remains the most urgent challenge, because it concerns the future of the planet. Digital and artificial intelligence are extraordinary tools, but they must be oriented towards a positive and responsible impact” he underlined.

His approach to teaching will be based on a hybrid model capable of integrating lectures, laboratories, digital tools and field experiences, with the aim of training designers capable of combining creativity and concreteness. In addition to technical skills, Sacchi attributes a central role to  soft skills  – curiosity, listening, resilience, collaboration skills – considered essential to deal with the complexity of the market.

“The designer of tomorrow will increasingly have to be a  cultural and technological mediator ” states Sacchi. “Not just a creative person, but a professional capable of reading complex scenarios, connecting different disciplines and proposing ethical and innovative solutions”.

Finally, he addresses a direct message to the students and community of NAD: “Be curious, courageous and open. Design is an extraordinary discipline because it combines technique, art and social responsibility. NAD will be a place where we can experiment, grow and build the future of our profession together.
