Salone Raritas 2026: the new path of the Salone del Mobile dedicated to collectible design and limited editions

Salone Raritas 2026: the new path of the Salone del Mobile dedicated to collectible design and limited editions

When design meets rarity , a new curatorial language is born. And in 2026 this language takes official form with Salone Raritas , the new project of the Salone del Mobile.Milano dedicated to collectible design, limited editions, unique pieces and high international manufacturing.

A decisive step towards contemporary collecting

Presented in London and expected at Fiera Milano Rho from 21 to 26 April 2026 , Salone Raritas presents itself as one of the most innovative paths of the entire event.
The objective is clear: to create a bridge between excellent galleries and the global supply chain of the project , offering a place where exclusivity, cultural value and new methods of acquisition for unique and limited edition works dialogue.

A precise signal towards a market – that of collectible design – in strong growth, increasingly central in high-end interior, hospitality and real estate projects.

A project curated by Annalisa Rosso

Salone Raritas 2026 Annalisa Rosso

The curatorial direction is entrusted to Annalisa Rosso , editorial director and cultural events advisor of the Salone del Mobile, who guides a selection of pieces and galleries capable of telling:

  • icons reinterpreted

  • unique works

  • outsider pieces

  • limited editions capable of building strong design identities

The full title of the project – “Salone Raritas. Curated icons, unique objects, and outsider pieces” – expresses the ambition to define a new curatorial grammar dedicated to collectible design.

Formafantasma signs the space: a large architectural lantern

Salone Raritas 2026 Formafantasma

The exhibition was designed by the studio Formafantasma (Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin), among the most influential names in contemporary design.
The exhibition area takes the shape of an architectural lantern , a material and permeable landscape.

Main features of the setup:

  • porosity and visual lightness , so as not to overwhelm the objects on display

  • defined color and material palette , designed to allow calibrated customizations

  • rhythm and recognisability , so as to guide the visitor in discovering the pieces

The space appears as a narrative device rather than a simple installation: a scenography designed to enhance the stories preserved by the rare objects.

Why the Salone invests in collectible design

With Raritas , the Salon intercepts a phenomenon already evident in large contemporary projects:
hotels, private residences, experiential retail and high-end real estate development increasingly integrate unique works and limited edition furnishings as positioning tools.

Collectible design therefore becomes:

  • identity sign

  • value index

  • narrative tool for public and private spaces

  • cultural and investment asset

Bringing this category into the Salone del Mobile means strategically overseeing a new frontier of the project, relevant for:

  • investors

  • developer

  • institutional commissions

  • architects and interior designers who focus on uniqueness

Salone Raritas 2026: what to expect

The new route will be located in pavilions 9–11 of Fiera Milano Rho and will present:

  • selections from international galleries

  • unique works and limited editions

  • outsider pieces with a strong cultural value

  • high quality artefacts

  • an ecosystem dedicated to contemporary collecting

It will be a meeting place for professionals interested in integrating design rarities into hotels, retail, residences and tailor-made projects.

Salone Raritas brings a new dimension to the Salone del Mobile, which combines design, material culture, excellent craftsmanship and contemporary collecting.
A natural evolution for an event that continues to interpret the present and anticipate the future directions of the project.
