From its participation in the international “Responsible Design” event during Milan Design Week to national appointments in Bergamo and Potenza, AIPI confirms its commitment to promoting design culture, sustainability and the professional recognition of interior designers.
2026 is shaping up to be an important year for AIPI – Associazione Italiana Professionisti Interior Designers, an association increasingly present in key forums dedicated to the future of interior design, the quality of spaces and the role of the profession in society today.
The association’s path found one of its most significant moments during Milan Design Week, with its participation in the international event “Responsible Design”, held on 24 April at Casa Lombardia and organised by Fondazione Pio Manzù in collaboration with Regione Lombardia.
The event brought together, for the first time during Fuorisalone, some of Europe’s leading Interior Design organisations, opening a shared dialogue on safety, inclusivity, design responsibility and professional standards.
Alongside AIPI, the event welcomed ECIA – European Council of Interior Architects and EIDD – Design for All Europe, together with international figures from the design world such as Marco Piva, Rama Gheerawo and Karim Rashid.
The meeting offered an important opportunity to reaffirm the value of interior design as a discipline capable of having a real impact on people’s wellbeing, the quality of living spaces and the creation of more accessible, conscious and responsible environments.
AIPI between design culture, territory and profession
After Milan Design Week, AIPI continued its journey by taking part in other national events dedicated to design, innovation and project culture, including Interzum Forum Bergamo and Life Design Festival Potenza.
The association’s presence in these contexts confirms its aim to strengthen dialogue with professionals, companies, students, institutions and sector operators, contributing to the spread of a design vision based on expertise, sustainability, inclusivity and social responsibility.
Through its information spaces and activities across the territory, AIPI continues to present the opportunities reserved for members, its national and international collaborations, active working groups and projects focused on the growth of the interior designer profession in Italy.
A professional network for the future of interior design
Today, AIPI’s role belongs to a scenario in which interior design can no longer be seen only as an aesthetic or compositional exercise, but as a cultural, technical and social practice.
The quality of spaces, safety, accessibility, environmental sustainability and people’s wellbeing are becoming increasingly central in design. In this context, recognising the professional skills of interior designers is a crucial step towards building a more mature and aware design culture.
AIPI continues to develop collaborations with institutions, universities, companies, trade fairs, publishers and international organisations, promoting continuous training, multidisciplinary exchange and the enhancement of the profession.
Its participation in leading Italian and international events confirms the association’s role as a reference point for a growing professional community, called to contribute in an increasingly concrete way to the quality of spaces for living, working, hospitality and collective life.
