Milan, 24 September 2026 – Art, fashion and visual culture come together in “Dalí e la Moda” (Dalí and Fashion), the major exhibition hosted by Palazzo Reale in Milan from 24 September 2026 to 31 January 2027, timed to coincide with Milan Fashion Week.
In this context, Novacolor contributes to the design of the spaces with a selection of surfaces and paints conceived to accompany the exhibition route and enhance the relationship between artworks, light and architecture.

Promoted by the Comune di Milano – Cultura and organised by Palazzo Reale, MondoMostre and Civita Mostre e Musei, in collaboration with the Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí, the exhibition brings together more than 200 works, including paintings, drawings, garments, photographs, jewellery, film footage and documents from the most important international collections.
Curated by Judith Clark – exhibition-maker, art director and Professor of Fashion and Museology at the University of the Arts London – the show connects the figure of Salvador Dalí with the world of fashion, exploring the cross-pollination between art, design, communication and visual culture.
“For us, taking part in a project like ‘Dalí e la Moda’ means bringing the theme of surface into a broader cultural dialogue, where material, colour and architecture help to shape the visitor experience” – Roberta Vecci, Group Business Lead & Artistic Director for decorative surfaces and floorings, San Marco Group.
Throughout the exhibition spaces, MATmotion Supreme was used in white and in a range of colours, helping to define uniform, controlled visual backdrops. The ultra-matt finish reduces reflections and accompanies visitors along the exhibition route.
“The choice of MATmotion Supreme made it possible to create visual backdrops free from light interference, allowing a clearer reading of the works and installations,” says curator Judith Clark.

In the reception areas, by contrast, the finish takes on a more distinctive role. For the exhibition entrance, Marmorino KS was chosen: a lime-based mineral finish that introduces a textural, tactile dimension, helping to define the identity of the space from the very first encounter with the exhibition.
Completing the scheme is a platform finished in Materia Viva Mosaico, a decorative finish that interprets the surface through a distinctive material composition. It is an element that brings a more expressive note to the project, connecting colour, texture and architecture.

The variety of solutions used reflects a design approach in which each finish responds to a specific need of the space: neutral when it must make room for the artwork, chromatic when it helps define the route, and more textured when it becomes part of the identity of the space.
For Novacolor, this project is a concrete example of how surface design can engage with the world of art and exhibitions, helping to create environments that accompany and enhance the visitor experience.
Novacolor’s participation in “Dalí e la Moda” therefore confirms the brand’s commitment to promoting design culture through collaborations with internationally renowned institutions and exhibition venues, bringing its research into colour and finishes to settings where architecture, art and visual culture meet.
