NAD – Nuova Accademia del Design is a design academy based between Verona and Milan and part of Hdemy Group. Founded in 2012, it represents the original core from which the group developed and continues to stand out as a dynamic, recognisable and project-oriented educational institution.
Its identity is built around a teaching model that connects practice, method and constant dialogue with the professional world. While opening up to other creative languages, NAD keeps design and contemporary project culture at the centre of its educational vision, offering students a context in which to develop skills, awareness and a personal design perspective.
The history of NAD – Nuova Accademia del Design
The story of NAD began with a clear idea of education: turning design into a concrete experience, able to bring together thinking, tools and practical application. Since its foundation, the academy has built a coherent path within the Italian creative education landscape, gradually developing a significant presence in two strategic cities such as Verona and Milan.
Within Hdemy Group, NAD represents the starting point of a wider system dedicated to design culture, visual communication and post-diploma education. Its growth reflects a precise vision: to train professionals capable of reading the present and translating it into contemporary design languages.
More than simply a school, NAD presents itself as an educational environment where theory and practice are in constant dialogue, and where students grow through active learning, professional experience and the development of a personal method.
The role of NAD in the design world
NAD’s role in the design landscape is expressed through its ability to train design profiles aligned with contemporary transformations. The academy works across design, visual communication and post-diploma pathways, developing a teaching approach that values innovation, workshop practice, lecturers from the professional world and networking opportunities.
Alongside the structure of its courses, NAD promotes an educational vision aimed at making each student more aware of the cultural, creative and professional context they will enter. The goal is not only to transmit technical skills, but to support the development of a mature, up-to-date design mindset able to engage with real scenarios.
This perspective also includes attention to the quality of the programmes, an international outlook and, for some post-diploma courses, access to EABHES-accredited pathways and professional certifications. These elements help strengthen the academy’s positioning within the contemporary education landscape.
The partnership with Archi&Interiors
The presence of NAD – Nuova Accademia del Design on Archi&Interiors stems from a shared vision: to create a more open, current and conscious dialogue between education, design culture and sector publishing.
On one side, an academy that works every day on the growth of new design sensibilities; on the other, a magazine that tells the story of design, architecture and interiors through an editorial, cultural and accessible perspective. The collaboration takes shape within this shared space, with the aim of highlighting ideas, educational paths, talents and reflections connected to the world of contemporary design.
It is a partnership that brings together education and storytelling, teaching and dissemination, helping to build a richer and more dynamic narrative around design, its protagonists and its ongoing evolution.
