Venice, September 2026 – Some places are defined by matter that does more than cover space: it gives space meaning. Places where every surface shapes the way light is perceived, objects are narrated and architecture comes to life.
This vision guides Novacolor’s participation in Ca’ Riflesso, the special project conceived by Artemest — the international platform and benchmark for fine craftsmanship and contemporary Italian design — for Homo Faber 2026, the leading international event dedicated to craft excellence, taking place in Venice from September 1 to 30, 2026.
Hosted at Casa Sanlorenzo, Ca’ Riflesso imagines the home of a refined Venetian collector, transforming each room into a narrative of light, reflections, materials and exceptional craftsmanship. From the entrance and living area to the dining room, reading room and the home’s most intimate spaces, the project explores the dialogue between applied arts, interior design and Italian craftsmanship.
Within this setting, Novacolor was selected to help define the material identity of the interiors through a system of surfaces designed to interact with light and objects, supporting the project without ever overpowering it.
MATmotion Royale Eggshell in chocolate brown was chosen for the bedroom walls and ceilings. Its delicate eggshell effect adds chromatic depth and softly reflects the light, creating an intimate, enveloping atmosphere.
In the entrance, staircase and living area, the same finish appears in beige. Here, the surface becomes a quiet element that enhances natural light and connects architecture, furnishings and artworks.
On the ceilings of the dining room and reading room, MATmotion Royale in green introduces a sophisticated chromatic note, creating visual depth and accompanying the rhythm of the space without interrupting its perceptual continuity.
The walls of these rooms are finished with Dune, a decorative metallic texture whose subtle chiaroscuro effects bring movement and vibration to the surfaces, recalling the natural irregularity of handcrafted work.
Completing the project, Metallo_Fuso in Ottone and Rame covers the window and doorway reveals, turning architectural details into elements of continuity between light and matter. Materia Viva Conchiglia defines the entrance wall with a tactile surface containing shell fragments, expressing a contemporary approach to organic and sustainable materials.
For Novacolor, taking part in Ca’ Riflesso is far more than being present in an exhibition setting. It is an opportunity to contribute to a curatorial project in which the surface plays a design role, shaping atmosphere, perception and the identity of the space.
This vision is perfectly aligned with the theme of Homo Faber 2026, under the artistic direction of Es Devlin, which invites reflection on the relationship between light, the artisan’s hand and matter. Here, manufacturing knowledge is not simply displayed; it becomes visible through immersive installations that turn the creative gesture into an experience.
For Novacolor, light is not something that merely falls on matter: it is what makes matter perceptible, reveals its nuances and shapes our experience of space. This exploration also runs through The Light Between, the brand’s 2026 concept, and finds a new expression in Ca’ Riflesso through the dialogue between design, craftsmanship and architecture.
