Bontempi has won the prestigious Red Dot Design Award 2026, one of the most authoritative international awards dedicated to contemporary design. The Petra armchair, designed by studio e-ggs for Bontempi, received the renowned “Red Dot” seal, awarded by the jury for the outstanding quality of the project and its excellence in design.

The Petra armchair: a continuous line between form and comfort
The Petra armchair stems from a precise design gesture: its harmonious shape is built on a continuous line that flows from the backrest to the armrests, where each curve follows the next with balance and fluidity, creating an enveloping and recognisable profile.
The continuity of the line is not only aesthetic but also functional: the backrest supports the body ergonomically, while the generous seat ensures deep, relaxed comfort. The shell, conceived as a compact casing, interacts with the painted metal base, a slender, light graphic sign that visually lifts the upholstered volume.
