Plissè, the fully Made in Italy rechargeable table lamp by Accento, has been selected by the ADI Permanent Design Observatory for publication in the ADI Design Index 2026. The selection was presented on 1 October in Milan, at the opening of the exhibition. Its inclusion in the Index sets Plissè on the path towards the XXX ADI Compasso d’Oro Award, scheduled for 2028.
The ADI selection and the project

The selection of Plissè for the ADI Design Index 2026 brings Accento’s project into the annual volume curated by the ADI Permanent Design Observatory. The 2026 edition opens the two year path towards the XXX ADI Compasso d’Oro Award in 2028, in which the projects selected for the Index will be eligible to take part.
Designed by Masina Studio, Plissè stems from experimentation with 3D printing applied to lighting design. The lamp does away with the traditional shade and takes on an essential, slender form, with proportions designed to light the table without interrupting eye contact between people.
The pleated surface recalls the practice of folding and engages with the languages of art, architecture and fashion. The result is a three-dimensional texture that modulates the diffusion of light and creates a refined play of light and shadow across the surface, giving character to the space.

The design of the object is protected by a European patent, confirming the uniqueness of the formal and construction solution adopted.
The body of the lamp is a single, seamless element, while the LED source, with a colour rendering index close to 100, remains hidden from direct view and can be dimmed via a touch control on the top.
Particularly suited to the hospitality sector, Plissè features a separate base that can also be placed under a tablecloth, offering greater stability without interfering with the table setting.
Plissè interprets sustainability as a balance between production process, material quality and durability. The body is made of Nylon PA12, a 100% recyclable material, using Multi Jet Fusion 3D printing technology, which keeps waste to a minimum. The finishes are obtained with non-toxic paints with a low environmental impact, while the LED source, with an operating life of up to around 90,000 hours, ensures high energy efficiency and stable performance, reducing the environmental footprint throughout the product’s entire life cycle.

The selection for the ADI Design Index recognises a project in which form, quality of light and production process were developed together. For Accento, it marks a new milestone in the journey of Plissè, which was already among the winners in the Lighting category of the Archiproducts Design Awards 2025.
The entire Plissè colour range will be on display at the ADI Design Museum in Milan from 2 to 15 October 2026.
The brand
Accento’s collections are born from the meeting of research into the quality of light, design, and technological and manufacturing expertise.
The brand’s philosophy, called Hu.Li (short for Human Lighting), puts people at the centre and considers well-being beyond visual comfort alone: in forms, in materials and in the way light accompanies life within spaces.
This approach guides Accento’s design and technological research, with careful attention to the choice of materials and to production processes that combine quality, design and functionality.
